    Summer Beach Volleyball Program Overview

The West Windsor Volleyball’s “ICE Beach Volleyball Program” was started in 2007 as a way for our club players to continue their training and competitions throughout the summer. The program reinforces the basic volleyball skills learned through the indoor game, as well as teaching beach volleyball specific skills and strategy. The program’s practices, held at the Morris Davison Park in Plainsboro & Mercer County Park, run during weeknights with players being divided equally into groups of similar skill level. Each practice combines skills training, conditioning, and plenty of game play. Every weekend brings the optional opportunity for all players to team up with a partner and apply it in a beach volleyball tournament through one of our club supporters, Great American Volleyball (Greatamericanvolleyball.com).

Thanks to the support of the Plainsboro Parks and Recreation department & Mercer County Park, as well as the parents and players of the WWVBC, we will be once again offering players the opportunity to play in our program. The program will run weekly starting June 4th and conclude August 2nd, just prior to the high school indoor season. We will be organizing between 5 and 7 tournament weekends where we will work to organize teams and carpools for the players to take on players from throughout New Jersey at various beaches throughout the Jersey Shore.  The program’s coaches do work voluntarily.  This year we are excited to welcome VolleyChick (VolleyChick.com), the only girls beach volleyball specific clothing line, as a program supporter..rumor has it they will be designing shirts for all ICE Beach program participants!

Details will be provided to West Windsor Volleyball Club players and parents in the coming months, stay tuned!
